We will have a new outside pizza oven available from May 2012 for diners at the Vanilla Pod @ Cridford Inn!
There will be an outside play area for children available from May to accompany our brand new pizza oven.
(Children must be supervised by an adult when using the playground)
We would like to bring to customers attention that the pub will be closed the evening of Monday 14th May as the road to the pub is being resurfaced. We are still open for lunch as normal.
You can now enjoy the great taste of The Vanilla Pod at home or on the go with our new take away menu. Available every day (except Saturdays), from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
A family Business... A family business run by the husband and wife team Ian and Tracey. Ian is the head Chef and more can be found about him under Our Chef!. Ian has won many accolades as well as collecting his top award for deserts at the Hilton London Metropole.
It is believed that the main site of the now, Cridford Inn, dates back to 1086 and was probably one of the nine small-holdings mentioned in the “Domesday Book” of that time, which belonged to the Abbey of Buckfast in the Manor of Trusham.

The latest Steven Spielberg movie WAR HORSE was filmed on Dartmoor only 5 miles from the Vanilla Pod and is Nominated for 2 Golden Globes! Locations used for filming are the village of Meavy on Widdecombe in the Moor and Ditsworthy Warren House near Sheepstor. Stephen Spielberg quoted:
"I have never before in my long and eclectic career been gifted with such an abundance of natural beauty as I experienced filming War Horse on Dartmoor."
We now have wireless internet available throughout the Cridford Inn and Vanilla Pod restaurant.
